Season-Ending Injury for Salazar
Thursday, July 2nd , 2026
Tony Salazar has to call it a season. The Pittsburgh (FCL) Pirates Gold reliever learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 06/29/2026 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn labrum and stated that he would not be able to play for 4 months.
The team will likely place Salazar on the injured list today.
This year, Salazar has earned 1 save, worked 12 innings, fanned 6 hitters and recorded a 1.50 ERA. He has also put up a 0-0 won-lost mark.
