Just ask Nick Martens -- he was the King of Swing against the Phillies, but his Tigers West were beaten, 9-7, anyway. The Detroit W (FCL) first baseman had 6 chances against Philadelphia (FCL) and delivered 5 hits in a sensational game. "Unbelievable feeling," he told the press. "It felt great to be hitting like that, but a downer when you look at the scoreboard. 5-for-6 does wonders for your confidence, but it's a shame we couldn't win, too." Nick Martens singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
