Big Day with Bat: Jervis 5-for-6
Saturday, June 27th , 2026
Detroit W (FCL) left fielder Willem Jervis could do no wrong in his team's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays, as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Blue Jays skipper Dan Reese said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Jervis agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Willem Jervis singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year, Jervis is batting .349 with 3 home runs.
