Wednesday, June 17th , 2026
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Washington (FCL)'s 22-14 win over Detroit W (FCL), left fielder Mike Scott was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Tigers West Grounds.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Scott said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Mike Scott hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Justin Waters in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, singled in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th.
At the moment, Scott is batting .387 with 1 home run and 5 RBIs. He has played in 7 games and scored 6 times.
