Correa Slams 5 Hits for St. Louis (DSL)
Friday, July 17th , 2026
St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals Red shortstop Edgar Correa had a day to remember at Red Sox 2 Park, ripping apart the Boston (DSL) Red Sox 2 and sparking the 15-10 Cardinals Red win.
Correa wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Correa told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Edgar Correa singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Miguel Escobar in the 9th.
So far on the season, Correa is hitting .333 with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 13 hits and played in 14 games.
