Beck Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Friday, July 17th , 2026 It seemed that DSL center fielder Bill Beck could do no wrong as the Athletics KO'd the Mariners, 7-2. Beck rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Mariners hurlers were throwing. "I think the Athletics were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Seattle (DSL) fan after the game. "I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Beck in the postgame press interview. Bill Beck hit a solo-shot off Mike Eckenrode in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Batting .542 to date, Beck has 1 home run and 2 RBIs. |
