Cubs 1 Chill Offner Hot Streak Tuesday, July 14th , 2026 The Kansas City (DSL) Royals 2 lost to the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs 1, 3-2, at Kansas City (DSL) Grounds, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Ian Offner's 20-game hitting streak. The center fielder went 0-for-2 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Offner, we would win the game," Cubs 1 manager Joel Abney explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This season, Offner is hitting .449 with 48 hits, 11 home runs, 32 RBIs, scored 33 runs and played in 27 games. |
