Detroit (DSL) Stops Ziffer Hit Streak
Monday, July 13th , 2026
For 23 straight games, Ezekiel Ziffer tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.
Well, the 20-year-old Detroit (DSL) Tigers 1 second baseman can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Detroit (DSL) Tigers 2. The Tigers 2 held him hitless in 4 at-bats at Tigers 2 Ballpark and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 23.
There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Tigers 1 took the win by the score of 2-1.
"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."
For the season, Ziffer has produced 39 hits in 102 at-bats for a .382 average with 6 home runs and gotten on base at a .435 clip.
