5-for-6 Day for Lewis Saturday, July 11th , 2026 Baltimore (DSL) right fielder Brian Lewis went down swinging at Orioles 2 Park, knocking out 5 hits even as his Orioles 2 fell, 12-9. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Lewis said after his 5-for-6 performance against the DSL Athletics. "No offense meant to DSL, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Lewis spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Lewis agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Brian Lewis singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. |
