Chicago N (DSL) Stops Hench Hit Streak
Wednesday, July 8th , 2026
Ronnie Hench saw his 21-game hitting streak wither and die during the Kansas City (DSL) Royals 1 win over Chicago N (DSL) at Royals 1 Stadium. The 22-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs 1, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 6-5.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Hench told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 21 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

Hench is batting .309 this year with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 17 hits in 55 at-bats.
