Ruiz Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, June 24th , 2026 The Colorado (DSL) Rockies 2 stopped the Houston (DSL) Astros by a score of 11-10 at Rockies 2 Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Alex Ruiz. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ruiz said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Ruiz did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Astros. "Not much that I can say," offered Houston (DSL) manager William Zbinden. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Alex Ruiz doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Lies in the 6th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 10th. |
