Spangler Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Orioles 1 Wednesday, June 24th , 2026 Matt Spangler was in a home run mode at Orioles 1 Field. The New York N (DSL) first baseman massacred Orioles 1 pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Baltimore (DSL) won the ballgame, 7-5, despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Spangler will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Matt Spangler hit a solo-shot off Melvin Duran in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Melvin Duran in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Hector Garcia in the 8th. So far this year, Spangler is batting .519 with 8 home runs, 18 RBIs and 19 runs scored. |
