Secca Goes on Rampage Against Angels
Sunday, June 21st , 2026
New York N (DSL) Mets 1 second baseman Batista Secca had a day to remember at Mets 1 Ballpark, ripping apart the Los Angeles (DSL) Angels and sparking the 13-9 Mets 1 win.
Secca wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Secca told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Batista Secca singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chris Garcia in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
To date Secca has chalked up a .366 average with 3 home runs, driven in 6 runs and scored 8 times.
