Palomares Strokes 5 Hits Friday, June 19th , 2026 Gustavo Palomares was at the head of a Pittsburgh (DSL) hit parade at Mets 1 Ballpark. The right fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Pirates 2 to a nice 18-10 victory over the New York N (DSL) Mets 1. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Palomares told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Mets 1 skipper David Jaimes said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Gustavo Palomares singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Carlos Jimenez in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
