3-HR Game for Atkinson Thursday, June 18th , 2026 Some days you can't have it all, as Los Angeles (DSL) Dodgers Robinson third baseman Chris Atkinson discovered when he cracked three homers against the Cleveland (DSL) Guardians 2, and still lost. "I have mixed emotions about this game," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but it's hard to be happy when you lose the game." The 20-year-old got his name in the league record books, but the Guardians 2 walked away with the triumph, 16-9, at Dodgers Robinson Grounds. Atkinson finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," he said in the postgame interview. Chris Atkinson grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Henry Alcaraz in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Andy Rodriguez in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Andy Rodriguez in the 9th. This year, Atkinson is batting .409 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. |
