Bibriesca on Fire: 5-for-5 for Salem
Friday, July 17th , 2026
Salem center fielder Francisco Bibriesca had a fantastic day at the plate at Pelicans Grounds, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a win, 3-1.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Bibriesca said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Pelicans. "No offense meant to Myrtle Beach, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Pelicans Grounds."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the center fielder's improvements, saying Bibriesca spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Bibriesca said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Francisco Bibriesca singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Scott Skinner in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Bibriesca is hitting at a .471 pace with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs. He has played in 8 games and scored 7 times.
