Matt Batten Captures CAR Award Monday, July 13th , 2026 19-year-old Matt Batten made a few Augusta headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Carolina League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 6 hits in 10 at-bats to put up a .600 average. Batten collected 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 2 runs. Batten is currently hitting .359 with 3 home runsand 7 RBIs, while scoring 11 runs. |
