CAR Names Top Player of the Week Monday, July 6th , 2026 Carolina League pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Rocco Mendez, but to no avail. His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .429 for the week to win the CAR Player of the Week Award. The Down East first baseman cracked 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 3 home runs, drove in 6 runs and scored 5 times.
