Scott Goes 5-for-5 Against Augusta Monday, June 29th , 2026 Rich Scott got the glory and the headlines, but the Augusta GreenJackets left with the win. The Columbia center fielder easily handled the GreenJackets pitching, going 5-for-5, but his Columbia Fireflies came out on the short end of the 5-4 score. Scott told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Rich Scott hit a solo-shot off Santos Ortiz in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Scott is hitting .339 this year with 2 home runs, 17 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 81 hits in 239 at-bats, 16 walks and a .388 on-base percentage. Scott has played in 58 games. |
