Spooner Gets 5 Hits Thursday, June 25th , 2026 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Chris Spooner of the Bowling Green Hot Rods had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 12-10 win over the Hickory Crawdads at Crawdads Stadium. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Chris Spooner singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. In his season totals Spooner has no home runs and a .230 batting average. |
