Vasquez Goes 5-for-5
Tuesday, June 30th , 2026
Fans at Blue Wahoos Fields got to see not only a home-team victory, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos outplayed the Birmingham Barons en route to a 3-2 win, but the standout was shortstop Brennan Vasquez. Vasquez netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.
"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Barons manager Dustin Waddill said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."
Brennan Vasquez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 10th.
This year, Vasquez is batting .217 with 5 home runs and 18 RBIs. In 44 games he has scored 19 times.
