An outstanding season by the Cardinals garnered their manager Chris Stanfield the Texas League Manager of the Year award for 2026. He led Springfield to a 77-63 record this year and a first place finish in the North Division.
Even so, Stanfield seemed less than thrilled. "I don't give a darn about the award," he growled to reporters, "I just want this team to win championships!"
