Cardinals Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Wednesday, August 20th , 2025 The St. Louis (FCL) Cardinals proved to be too much to handle for the Toronto (FCL) Blue Jays in the Round 1, and a sweep was the end result. St. Louis (FCL) punched its ticket to the Round 2 on the strength of a 6-0 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 4-0. St. Louis (FCL) catcher Tony Vasquez, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Toronto (FCL) pitching to the tune of a .400 average, with a .438 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 5 runs. The St. Louis (FCL) Cardinals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Minnesota (FCL) Twins - Tampa Bay (FCL) Rays series. Minnesota (FCL) leads the series 2 games to 1.
