Myers Smacks 4 Homers Against Tampa Bay (FCL) Friday, July 4th , 2025 Hitting a single home run is a tough task. Hitting two in a game is impressive. Hitting three is remarkable. Anything beyond that is borderline unbelievable -- yet that's what Matt Myers did today in the 21-4 Atlanta (FCL) Braves victory over the Tampa Bay (FCL) Rays. Myers went 4-for-5 with 4 home runs and drove in 7 runs in a once-in-a-lifetime feat that the opposing manager later labeled "impossible." "I don't believe it really happened," Rays manager Rob Crigger joked to BNN reporters afterward. "I don't ever enjoy losing a game, but this kid was special today. I have never seen a guy hit 4 in a game before. I didn't enjoy it, but it was special." Matt Myers hit a three-run home run off Chad de la Cruz in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Rob Hart in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Rob Hart in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Pat Maxharraj in the 5th and grounded out in the 6th. This year, Myers is hitting .377 with 26 hits, 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and has scored 13 runs. |
