Big 3-HR Day for Chowaniec
Saturday, June 28th , 2025
Houston (FCL) Astros right fielder Rick Chowaniec put on a dazzling display of power at Truist Park against the Atlanta (FCL) Braves. In the 10-6 Astros victory, Chowaniec penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Atlanta (FCL) manager Mark Spitzer said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 21-year-old had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Chowaniec said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Rick Chowaniec struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Tom Crary in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Francisco Meza in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Josh Graves in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
Chowaniec is batting .370 with 9 home runs and 17 RBIs this season.
