Big Bang! 3 HR for Miami (FCL)'s Hare
Tuesday, June 17th , 2025
His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Toby Hare swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at LoanDepot Park, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Atlanta (FCL) Braves were better.
The Miami (FCL) Marlins couldn't capitalize on the big game from Hare and dropped the contest, 15-11.
The mood in the Marlins clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Braves to spoil the day for Hare.
"Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Miami (FCL) manager Wade Barton said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level."
In addition to the homers, Hare collected 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Miami (FCL) first baseman told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3."
Toby Hare doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Tom Crary in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Bryan Williams in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Mike Fink in the 8th.
This year, Hare is hitting .542 with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs in 6 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .560 with 1 walk and 5 runs scored.
