Garcia Goes 5-for-7
Monday, August 25th , 2025
After a 5-hit effort to lead ACL's 24-7 victory over the Cincinnati(ACL) Reds, first baseman Juan Garcia told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Arizona Complex League-level is really something special."
The 23-year-old player earned his accolades at Sutter Health Park with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Reds.
"His swing is getting there," said Athletics skipper Ben Chaney, who spoke glowingly of Garcia after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Juan did that to perfection."
Juan Garcia hit a two-run home run off Corey Estrada in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Kevin Redden in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Garrity in the 8th.
Thus far this season in 53 games, Garcia is batting .429 with 14 home runs, 57 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 219 at-bats.
