McConnell Bashes 5 Base Hits
Sunday, August 10th , 2025
It was almost a perfect day for Nate McConnell.
The Chicago N (ACL) first baseman displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day, but something was missing: The Cubs lost to the Chicago A(ACL) White Sox, 17-4. McConnell told BNN reporters after the game that luck was "fickle."
Chicago N (ACL) manager Perry Koelbl told the beat writers otherwise.
"There was no luck today," the skipper said. "He got 5 hits because he has a solid approach to hitting and he put it all together, and we lost because the rest of us didn't put it together so well."
Nate McConnell singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
On the season, McConnell is batting .371 with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs. He has played in 8 games.
