Red-Hot Hines Scorches White Sox Saturday, August 9th , 2025 Steve Hines was smoking all game at the plate, but couldn't finish his day with a victory cigar. After the 22-year-old Chicago N (ACL) Cubs right fielder tallied 6 hits in 7 at-bats, he was forced to watch as his club dropped the 10-9 decision to the Chicago A(ACL) White Sox. "That was no fun," Hines said to reporters after the game. "You hate to lose any game but it's even worse somehow to feel like you did enough to win." Steve Hines singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and flied out in the 12th.
