Valdez Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Chicago A(ACL) Friday, July 25th , 2025 For once, it was the Texas(ACL) Rangers picking up the slack for Ismael Valdez. The club's "offensive catalyst," as Texas(ACL) manager Victor Mondragon has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent and saw his 26-game hitting streak snapped by the Chicago A(ACL) White Sox. Valdez was bailed out by the rest of the Rangers, however, who stopped the White Sox, 6-4. The 20-year-old center fielder finished the day 0-for-4, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me." "Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow." This year, Valdez is batting .374 with 17 home runs and 44 RBIs. In 35 games he has scored 30 times. |
