Lynchburg's Matthews Snaps Up Player of the Week Monday, April 28th , 2025 It was some kind of week for John Matthews of the Lynchburg Hillcats. First he hits the heck out of the ball, ripping it at a .560 clip and the next thing you know, he is voted the Player of the Week in the Carolina League. Last week Matthews went 14-for-25, chalked up 1 home run and 4 RBIs and scored 8 runs. Not a bad week's work at all. Matthews is hitting .414 this season with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 24 hits in 58 at-bats. |
