Red-Hot Blanco Scorches GreenJackets Tuesday, April 22nd , 2025 The Lynchburg Hillcats stopped the Augusta GreenJackets by a score of 12-6 at Lynchburg Grounds, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Hector Blanco. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Blanco said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Blanco did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the GreenJackets. "Not much that I can say," offered Augusta manager Gabe Hardy. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Hector Blanco doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. To date this year, Blanco is batting .387 with no home runs. |
