Forbes 5-for-5 Against RiverDogs
Wednesday, April 29th , 2026
The Fredericksburg Nationals stopped the Charleston RiverDogs by a score of 12-9 at Nationals Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Coby Forbes. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Forbes said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Forbes did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the RiverDogs.
"Not much that I can say," offered Charleston manager Perry Novik. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Coby Forbes doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Moore in the 3rd, singled in the 4th and singled in the 6th.
This season, Forbes is batting .254 with 16 hits, 3 home runs, 5 RBIs, .277 OBP and has scored 8 runs.
