Salem Advances to Round 2 Sunday, September 21st , 2025 The excitement in Salem is palpable as the local club has advanced through the Round 1. The Salem Red Sox downed the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 14-8 tonight at Cannon Ballers Field, to take the series 4-2. "Things are going to get crazy in Salem for the Round 2. The fans are going to be behind us 100 percent, we know that," said Blake Hazel, who earned MVP honors. "There's a lot of motivation in our clubhouse right now to make sure we give them something to cheer about." For the series, Hazel hit .632 with a .696 on-base percentage. He had 12 hits, 3 home runs, 10 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Salem Red Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Columbia Fireflies - Augusta GreenJackets series. Augusta leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
