5 Hits for GreenJackets Mada Thursday, June 5th , 2025 The Augusta GreenJackets stopped the Salem Red Sox by a score of 7-5 at GreenJackets Fields, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Juan Mada. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Mada said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Mada did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Red Sox. "Not much that I can say," offered Salem manager Savion Ellis. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Juan Mada singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Erick Stanton in the 8th. This season, Mada has banged out 37 hits in 103 at-bats for a .359 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .416 pace and his totals also include 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored. |
