Perez Goes 5-for-5 Saturday, April 19th , 2025 It seemed Mississippi Braves first baseman Edgar Perez could do no wrong, but it still didn't come out right. The Braves fell against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos by the score of 6-5. Perez did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but in the end, Pensacola prevailed at Blue Wahoos Fields. "I felt real good, but my best just wasn't enough," Perez said in the postgame interview. "We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and put the ball in play well, and they fell in for base hits. Some days they do that." Edgar Perez singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Edwardo Guerrero in the 9th. This year, Perez has 3 home runs and a .579 batting average. |
