Rubio Belts Bunch of Base Hits Tuesday, August 12th , 2025 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Danny Rubio of the Tennessee Smokies. The Tennessee third baseman gave it his all and dominated Biloxi Shuckers pitching at Shuckers Field, finishing with a great 5-for-6 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Shuckers going home the winner, 15-10. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Rubio said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Danny Rubio grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Matt Rogowski in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. So far this season, Rubio is batting .292 with 13 home runs, 43 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 71 hits in 243 at-bats, 16 walks and a .348 OBP. Rubio has played in 59 games. |
