Martinez Slams 5 Hits for Mississippi Friday, July 25th , 2025 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Juan Martinez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-7 against the Biloxi Shuckers at Shuckers Field. The monster effort from the 19-year-old second baseman helped the Mississippi Braves get the win, 21-0. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Shuckers manager Matt Kelley. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Juan Martinez flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Adam Abbot in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year, Martinez is batting .278 with 3 home runs. He has scored 17 runs and driven in 16. |
