5-Hit Game for Blackwell Thursday, July 10th , 2025 It was a high-five day for Jeremy Blackwell, at least for a while. The Pensacola second baseman got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Mississippi Braves, but they were in short supply at the end, as Mississippi won the game, 8-5. Blackwell finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Blue Wahoos couldn't hold off the Braves. "Jeremy was hitting everything," said Blue Wahoos manager Brandon Crabtree. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Jeremy Blackwell hit a solo-shot off Armando Acevedo in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Currently Blackwell is batting .369 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
