Sunday, May 18th , 2025
The Sugar Land Skeeters were almost helpless in their 6-0 loss to the Oklahoma City Dodgers and hurler David Petersen. Petersen kept the Skeeters confused all game, spinning a 2-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Petersen," Sugar Land manager Jimmy McIlroy said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 27-year-old left-hander had 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Petersen said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
So far this season, Petersen has logged a 6-2 record with a 3.32 ERA. He has started 8 games, hurled 57 innings and registered 36 strikeouts and 18 walks.
