Edwards Belts 5 Hits Thursday, July 9th , 2026 Cincinnati(ACL) left fielder Dane Edwards had a big day at Royals Gold Park against the Kansas City(ACL) Royals Gold. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-7 and led to the 21-5 Reds triumph over Kansas City(ACL). "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Edwards said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Dane Edwards flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dave Garcia in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Coleman in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. This year, Edwards has socked 18 hits in 40 at-bats for a .450 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .500 pace and his totals also include 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
