Cruz Smacks 5 Hits for Angels Tuesday, July 7th , 2026 It seemed that Los Angeles A(ACL) first baseman Manny Cruz could do no wrong as the Angels KO'd the Mariners, 20-3. Cruz rapped out 5 hits in 7 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Mariners hurlers were throwing. "I think the Angels were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Seattle(ACL) fan after the game. "I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Cruz in the postgame press interview. Manny Cruz grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. So far this year, Cruz is batting .404 with 4 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
