Injury Update for Houston, Lopez Friday, October 2nd , 2026 Marcos Lopez has to call it a season. The Houston Astros second baseman learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 10/01/2026 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as chronic back soreness and stated that he would not be able to play for 4-5 weeks. The team will likely place Lopez on the injured list today. This season, Lopez is swinging the bat at a .302 rate with 124 hits in 410 at-bats. To date he has hit 11 home runs, scored 55 runs and driven in 53. |
