NL Spotlight Shines on Rookie Star Thursday, October 1st , 2026 Pitcher Xavier Boyle of the Pittsburgh Pirates was the most productive rookie in the National League last month and today the league named him the Rookie of the Month award winner. In September his record was 4-0 with a 1.74 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 41.1 innings. Boyle has made 20 starts this season, posting 11 wins and 6 losses.
