Holden Rips Seattle for 5 Hits Wednesday, September 30th , 2026 It was a good day for the Royals at T-Mobile Park as they clipped the Seattle Mariners, 12-9. It was tremendous day for Joe Holden, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-6. "I don't know what to call that," the Kansas City first baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well." Joe Holden singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jose Flores in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Heatwole in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. This season, Holden has delivered 117 hits in 523 at-bats for a .224 average with 36 home runs. He is getting on base at a .332 clip and his totals also include 92 RBIs and 84 runs scored.
