Ferris Goes Yard 3 Times Saturday, September 26th , 2026 Fans are still buzzing after Detroit whipped the Arizona Diamondbacks by the score of 12-4 at Comerica Park. Matt Ferris smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Ferris said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Ferris said. "Three is just... wow." Matt Ferris walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off David Gallegos in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off David Gallegos in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Chris Taylor in the 7th. This year, Ferris is hitting .303 with 42 home runs and 105 RBIs in 145 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .385 with 47 walks and 103 runs scored. |
