New York Announces Kelly Will Retire Tuesday, September 22nd , 2026 Dave Kelly is stepping away from the game of baseball at the end of the season. The New York Yankees player gave a brief explanation to reporters this afternoon. "It's time to step away from the game and work on phase two of my life - world domination," the 38-year-old joked. Kelly wisecracked for several minutes while reminiscing about high and low points of his career. At the end of the session, Kelly sent a personal message. "I truly thank all you fans." His career stats show that Kelly has batted .252 and connected for 44 home runs. |
