Duvall Superb Against St. Louis Monday, September 21st , 2026 The St. Louis Cardinals were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates and hurler Jim Duvall. Duvall kept the Cardinals confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Duvall," St. Louis manager Brock Naff said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 32-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Duvall said.
