Tampa Bay, New York Agree to Deal Thursday, July 16th , 2026 The Rays and Yankees announced a deal that was completed today. Tampa Bay sent 21-year old minor league SS John Cioffi and 21-year old minor league RHP Sam Rutledge to New York for 30-year old RHP Michael Kennedy. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved. New York will retain a portion of Kennedy's remaining contract. To this point in the season Kennedy has no saves in 20 relief appearances with a 4-4 record and 5.60 ERA. |
