Tigers Send Garcia to Seattle
Friday, July 10th , 2026
It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners finalized a trade today. Detroit will send 17-year old minor league RHP Eddie Garcia to the Mariners, while the Tigers will receive 29-year old RHP Andy Derickson.

"We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Tigers general manager Donte Dillworth said.

The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day.

Seattle will retain a portion of Derickson's remaining contract.

This season, Derickson has made 20 relief appearances and saved 0 games. His record is 1-1 with 21 strikeouts in 24.2 innings with a 3.65 ERA.
